It’s been a while, how is
everyone? How’s life? What you doing?
Life in the land of Nicca has
been a roller coaster recently. After
the jubilation of the pub staying open, life has been nuts. The Jubilee weekend was exciting, it was a
great time to be in London. It’s all
been a bit crap really. I am stressed
out about visas, weddings (not mine), money, weight, blah blah blah blah…
So I decided to put together a
list of things that make me happy to distract me from the rubbishness…
- My nephew Sam – this is the gift that keeps on giving, he makes me laugh whenever I speak to him and I will never forget the guilts he gave me about returning to England this year. This kid wants me in NZ.
- My family – they will stand by me no matter what, they also want me back in NZ.
- My friends – they are divided over where they would like me to live, given that they all live in different countries, but lately they have been there for me. Even if it is just playing a few games of dominoes (retro hey!) when I was recently unable to drink due to my kidney infection. They are the best and without them I would be nothing.
- Sunshine – there is not a lot of it in London right now, however, the hose pipe ban is about to be lifted, so we are beating the drought, cool
- Snuggles – I can still dream about these!
- Rock of Ages – I am very excited about this movie – 80’s music with Russell Brand, what’s not to be excited about.
- The few men that I lust after – all blissfully unaware, but I can dream and look huh and some of them I actually know, not just the likes of Noel Feilding et al.

- Jax Teller – OMG how did I not know about Sons of Anarchy before now? I am completely in love with Charlie Hunnam – see item above.
- Keenan – My friend Monica’s little boy, I have met him twice and he is amazing, he and I got on like a house on fire this year and he now sees my double in supermarkets and thinks that I am coming back on the police helicopter, how cute is that.
- Quinn, Max, Maia and one under incubation – my friend’s kids are cool. They are so sweet and I love seeing their photos. I bribe them with gifts from the UK. They will love me when I eventually move back to NZ.
- The best sushi in London – I have finally found it and I love it. Brewer Street in the West End. It’s less than £2 for 6 pieces.
- This song – it’s hard not to want to dance when you hear it.
- People who read this blog – my chef friend told me that he doesn’t like to comment on line but that my blogs about Turkey put him right there. Awwww.
- New Girl – I love that programme – Zooey Deschanel is amazing. So cute, so funny and she has me in fits every episode.
So there you have it. These are the things that are getting me
through the day right now. Please feel
